We Are Proud to be a B Corp!

Good.Must.Grow. is proud to be a B Corp. This designation is our way of publicly documenting the impact we want to have on the world around us. While the B Corp movement is gaining momentum across the globe, we know this is new for some of you. As such, we thought we’d take a few minutes to tell you more about it and why we think this is such a big deal.

What’s a Certified B Corp?

Certified B Corporations make up a business community that is committed to environmentally friendly practices and positive social impact.  B Corp certification is to sustainable business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. The B Corp certification is managed by B Lab, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.

Nearly 700 organizations have been certified as B Corps. That number is growing daily, and includes household brands such as Patagonia, Ben and Jerry’s, Warby Parker and Seventh Generation as well as a host of up and coming social enterprises who are changing the world for good.

How Did GmG Become a Certified B Corp?

The certification for becoming a B Corp involves a thorough assessment process to prove that an organization operates according to high standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Thanks to our B Corp rep, Elizabeth, it was an intense but fun process. There are five major categories that are involved in becoming certified: Governance, Employees, Suppliers, Environment, Community.

As an impact organization, GmG had a head start on meeting the rigorous B Corp requirements. As we grow, we fully expect to improve our score and rank. You can find our profile here.

Why Did GmG Become a Certified B Corp?

We were born to be a B Corp. This community of leaders will redefine how business is done, and we want to be a part of that story. By certifying as a B Corp, we are making a public commitment to a higher calling. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Since its founding in 2012, Good.Must.Grow. has quickly built a local and national roster of socially conscious clients. We commit to re-investing after-tax profits back into worthy causes and have recently begun seeking donations and strategic partners for our GmG Fund, which will serve as a marketing scholarship/subsidy program for qualifying nonprofits across the country.

In the end, we want to be part of a movement that drives societal change by sparking increased charitable giving and community involvement as well as unprecedented levels of corporate social responsibility. We want our clients to be case studies, proving that having a conscience is good for business. The good revolution is in full swing. We are adding fuel to that fire.
